“I stayed here for the Great North Run in September. The staff are dedicated, to the point of opening breakfast from 5am on the day of the Run for runners! Exemplary and very easy to walk to the centre of Durham.”

“There were no cocktails to be had At All ! The pillows need changing as they are like bricks and the Showers need a shower mat as it becomes very, very slippery. This is a shame, because everything else was Great.”

The rooms were spotless, tastefully decorated, and the beds were incredibly comfortable—just what we needed for a relaxing stay. Although we hadn’t pre-booked breakfast for all five of us the night before, the staff were more than happy to accommodate us on the day without any fuss, which we really appreciated. “Nice upscale hotel with large rooms. Good work desk and internet. Breakfast had lots of choices, both hot and cold. Nice location along canal, with a reasonable (if uphill) walk into town, towards the cathedral. Getting to the hotel by foot from the station more challenging due to the hill nature of town, and construction blocking various access ways.”
