I often pick this hotel to stay at when in Glasgow. The first reason is because it is near all the places I have to be and like to visit. The staff has always been very helpful in catering to my needs. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the breakfast is worth paying for. I don't drive in the city, so I cannot speak about parking, but I know the hotel always sends a message concerning where to park. The hotel is doing some renovations at this time, but I found it still a good place to stay.

They were doing some work on one of the elevators but that was not a problem. The room was small but fine. It is well located near Queen Street station and a great place to use as a base for visiting the city.

Both reception and restaurant staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast a good selection. In room bedding and towels clean but we were allocated room 301 which was badly in need of upgrading the walls and woodwork extremely shabby. The shower curtain rail was red with rust. At a rate of £160 a night definitely poor value for money. The noise from outside was excessive cars revving engines, music from car radios, people shouting and police car sirens until 4am in the morning. Would be reluctant to stay at the Mercure again.

Room was clean and refurbished. The refurbished rooms were still quite narrow and the room seemed very small. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment so amenities are not all there yet. Breakfast was nice.
