「Sheelah & Peter are extremely pleasant and helpful. The spacious house are lovely and extremely quiet. The breakfasts are excellent in the large beautiful dining room. The surrounding countryside is spectacular (drive north on nearby Devil’s Causeway and look west to the Cheviots in the late evening, but be careful of the hares on the road.) The rooms are spotless, the beds very comfortable, the showers bliss, the rates excellent. We hope to return. The hosts’ recommendations for evening meals...

「First class stay, quality of fresh food was quite amazing for a small place, fresh Lobster on the menu and breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh local produce. Will definitely come back!」

「This was not a B&B as advertised. This was a grim, empty beach house where the owner, who lived an hour away, remotely answered the doorbell to tell guest how to find their keys. The only good thing to say about it was that the owner refunded my money promptly when I frantically was able to find proper accommodations.」

「This is a fabulous hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, very good food, comfortable and well appointed rooms. Great location on the Northumbrian coast in a village which is a delight to walk round.」

「Very clear instructions how to sign in. Room was lovely with a view of the sea and very good value for money! They even let me know that the carpark was going to be out of use due to the local festival taking place in the carpark. Only slight issue was the very good selection of books available that I couldn't possibly read in one night!! 😅! All in all a very nice place! 👍」

「This was our first visit to see what it was like to give us future options and to compare it with Doxford Hall where we usually stay for short breaks. We are sorry to give only 4 stars for this particular stay, the property and room quality were both excellent as were the staff we interacted with but the stay was let down by a problem with shortage of kitchen staff due to illness. This resulted in a reduced dinner menu from which my Wife could not select something she really liked (ending up...

「Excellent location and setting. Staff excellent. Steam room out of service in the spa. Room could have done with some tlc - eg crumbly walls around where curtain hooks and the tv cable have been put in. TV in the room didn’t work. No decaf tea bags so got charged £9.35 for two decafs in the sitting room.」
