Great location, lower your expectation on service

Second time here, mainly for the london eye view. Location is great. But service was really …merely acceptable. Slow, cold, not so friendly. Lower your expectation on warm and welcoming service. Otherwise, all good.

Very dated and beware of "Deluxe King Room"...I expected a street/building view as I didn't pay for Garden or River view; however, I ended up looking inside a small dingy courtyard with mechanical equipment. Requested an early check-in as flying on redeye from U.S.: they understandably said they couldn't guarantee and would text me when the room was ready. They never did but I went to hotel at check-in time of 3pm and room was ready. Very, very dated and dark.

We loved our stay at the Royal Horseguards. It’s in a great location; easy to get to transportation and sights. The staff were so kind and attentive. The property was clean and well-appointed. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

The location and lobby of this hotel were fantastic. The doorman was so incredibly friendly and helpful (wish I could recall his name). The bars and restaurants were great. However, the room itself was tired. Carpet needed to be replaced, furniture was worn, very few plugs in the room, etc. The bathroom was large but the shower was tiny, and the tile needed a deep cleaning, or replacing. The room was relatively quiet, which was nice. Housecleaning needed to be a little more consistent. Found a candy bar in the chair, someone else’s soap in the shower, and they were inconsistent with leaving caffeinated coffee. Bed was comfortable. Room service food quality after midnight was atrocious (jet lag). The chicken on the Caesar salad was grey, and the lettuce was wilted.

Check in was ok - friendly enough staff but they had booked my friend and i into a double room when i had booked a twin. They offered a king size as an upgrade but we wanted separate beds. So then had to wait while they tried to find a room. Eventually got a twin but it had frosted windows so we couldnt see out.
