First time staying here. Never again!
Chaotic check-in: this hotel has self-check-in stations all closely stationed to each other causing a crowd of people in one corner. it is confusing as people keeps asking for help from few receptionists standing around. Would be quick and trouble free if checkin is done by receptionists to start with.
We were early to arrive 12.30pm, check-in wasn't allowed, and they insisted to charge £10 to store our luggage in luggage room, and to charge another £10 if we intended to "check-in early" when room is not ready. We were asked to return after 1pm as room may be ready.
We returned at 1pm but the check in station again reported the room was still not ready until likely after 3pm. The £10 charge to leave our luggage still applied.
Reception desk person was not helpful and simply gave us a smirk when we complained - whilst saying that every hotel has their rules and we have to follow them
Finally, our booking online was for a room with standard double bed, and shocked to see that we were given a "box room" with 4 double beds (2 on bunk up and 2 beds below. The room had no basic facilities as advertised online: no window, no TV, no desk, no table, no chair, no sofa, no tea/coffee set, no hairdryer, no soap, no conditioner. We got to our room late in evening after a theatre show, so we did not go to reception to complain.
Glad we were staying for only 1 night, the overall poor experience doesn't merit the high price charged!
