"The check in process was simple and easy. The house was spacious enough for my large family. There was a dock for the boat and the swimming area was great. The kids had a blast swimming and playing on the water mat. Early mornings and evenings were peaceful as you watched some wildlife. A great time was had by everyone."

"It was a nice get away for our wedding anniversary. We were able to bring our dogs and use the private strip of beach a couple of cottages away. This was a great quiet trip. The only thing that could have been better is the AC in the cottage. A window unit is provided but with 90 temps it couldn’t keep up."

"My sister and I have always wanted to visit Smith Island. This house was perfect! Well appointed, comfortable, great location and terrific host. The golf cart was such a huge bonus. We had amazing water tours, walked, relaxed, spotted more birds than we could count. Everyone on the island was beyond friendly. The Rappahannock carries special meaning for them...it's where they began their love story, and where they were engaged. Pop Castle is a warm, beautiful place for an event...only surpassed by the warmth and kindness of it's owners. The home is historic, well-maintained, and so comfortable! No detailsforgotten. Amazing kitchen! Bathrooms immaculate and the most comfy beds! This is truly a place for relaxation and sharing joy with friends & family! It has every amenity for a large gathering...beautiful views and grounds, places to spread out and come together! As Mother of the Bride, I was not as relaxed as I would have liked! But...all the more reason to return with the folks we treasure for another "Rivah" Respite! "Had a really relaxing week..we fished from the dock (didn't catch much but was relaxing lol). The pool was great and spent most of our days there. We had a really bad storm one evening and lost power for 12 hours. We were lucky we had flashlights and a latern in the car..may i suggest you provide one."
