“I am going to celebrate my husband's wedding. The hotel is cosy and unique, it has a nice restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast during our stay, and a small library bar where you can chill with friends. The room is spacious and warm, we love this hotel.”

“The location is excellent, the staff were all really nice and helpful, dining room and food, very good. Sadly, no lift, so being on the top floor was a bit awkward, and our room, though clean and tidy, and comfortable, was a bit tired, and the noise from the fairground across the road, and the boy racers in the night was intrusive because, in the heatwave we had to leave the windows open because there is no A.C. in the main building (there is in the annex). Not a destination hotel for me, but……

“The location is excellent with easy access to riverside restaurants and transport hubs. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was really good with a lovely view of Keel Square. Breakfast was OK but overcrowded on three occasions.”

“Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. Flower borders were just lovely! Room (twin deluxe) was spacious, comfortable and clean. One note, we were in room 216 which had view over cafe at back, which was really pretty so not a problem. However, deliveries started unloading at 6am in the morning which wasn't great. The hotel is so close to Beamish working museum, very handy. Few good pubs in the area too.”
