"We had a great experience at the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun. The food quality at both the buffet and restaurants was excellent. We tried 9 out of the 12 restaurants, and all of them were fantastic. The breakfast and lunch buffets were also very good. I would rate the food overall 9/10.
There were just a few small things that kept me from giving it a perfect score—for example, no straws at restaurants and bars, no honey or jams available at breakfast, and a limited selection of meats and seafood at lunch.
Our room was very clean, and the bed was fairly comfortable—I’d give it an 8/10. The only real issue we had was with room service. The wait time was very long—almost an hour each time just to get simple things like water or a blanket (we didn’t order food). I would rate the room service 6/10.
The beach was fine, though I can’t really judge it fairly because it was sargassum season. The pools and waterparks, however, were awesome and a highlight of our trip.
Overall, we had a very good experience, not only because of the hotel itself but also because of the outstanding service we received from the Expedia team. I especially want to thank Eduardo, who helped make our vacation even more special.
I’ve stayed at many luxury resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean—most of them more expensive than this one. Despite a few minor flaws, this hotel can easily compete with them—if not surpass them in some areas."
