“Room was very nice and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only downside to the room is that Holiday Inns no longer have in room coffemakers.”

“Just terrible place to stay I stayed for 3 days no one touched the room I asked 3 times to send someone to clean it they’re busy. I had to ask for towels waited to get them just dirty place would never suggest to anyone.”

“The staff were friendly, but the property is very old and has a musty smell and it is very loud at night. You can hear cars going back-and-forth. It is on a busy road. Also, there are big spotlights pointing right at the property so there’s a lot of light coming through the windows even with the curtains”

“Great property with just a few flaws. Parking is difficult to find currently with all the construction in the area (temporary) and while the rooms are nice the walls are super thin. You hear everything in the hallways and in the rooms next to you. Everything! Staff was great and while we didn’t win at the casino, it is super fun and Greektown offers tons of bars and restaurants right nearby.”

The decor of the public area was exciting, it is a well preserved historic space and shows the old and the new. The Candy Bar is an adorable little bar with tasty libations and an always rotating cast of characters. However, I would recommend with a name like that, add a drink with an actual candy name like “Chocolate Kiss” martini , served with …what else, but a chocolate kiss candy as a……

“Great place. We booked a suite at this hotel after a bad Airbnb experience. The hotel staff was awesome. There were no issues checking-in and the place had a decent view, Quality of breakfast is good. We will book it again.”

“The A/C was broken, did not function at all; the shower door has high pitch squeaking sound every time i closed it. Everything else is good.”

“There were some cobb webs in the room, but aside from that it felt clean for an overnight stay. I was disappointed no Black artists were featured in the book about artist's behind the hotel. It's a very well located hotel.”
