This is my second or third stay at this hotel, and unfortunately I’ve experienced repeated issues with the rooms, particularly the showers. On previous stays, I had to change rooms multiple times due to either no hot water or electricity outages. On this visit, the shower handle and overhead shower had very little water pressure, making them unusable. I ended up having to shower using the tap. By that point, I didn’t have the energy to go back to reception to request another room change. I was also disappointed with the customer service on this occasion, which was noticeably below the standard I’ve experienced here before. When I approached the reception desk for assistance, two staff members were focused on discussing a non-urgent handover task (tea & coffee should be set at front next time for breakfast) while I was left waiting. Later, when I asked if there was an umbrella I could borrow, the response was dismissive and impolite. I was told I could either take a broken one or not use one at all. This experience was quite shocking, as the staff have usually been great during my previous stays. I hope the hotel can address both the maintenance issues and customer service standards going forward.

Another great stay here with family and dog on New Years Eve for a family event, but in the Coach House this time instead of the main House. A modern building inside, but without the charm and quirks of the older main house. Not a drawback, as the room had everything needed for a short stay. Also hotel had a New Year function, so we weren't affected by any late night revelry. A comfortable clean room with excellent en-suite. Excellent good quality breakfast, both continental and full English, with helpful staff, followed by a New Years Day dogwalk in the nearby park. Hotel extended departure to 12 o'clock for all guests. Good call!

Probably the worst pillows and bed in existence. For a ‘signature collection’ the quality used is terrible. Overall interior was drab. Staff at check in remotely couldn’t care less and were too busy on their phones.

The property is lovley, though far from anything in Birmingham. About a 40 mins uber ride. The rooms also smelt a little musty, as did the blankets. Front reception manager was absolutely lovely, as were all the staff we encountered. If you want wuiet and away from everything, definitely recommend.

Another great stay at what is fast becoming my favourite hotel in Birmingham. In all honesty, there was an issue with our room when we checked in, no fault of the hotel, but the lovely Marius moved us instantly without quibble to a lovely room. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a lovely stay. We will be back again next year 😍

The main building was stunning. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Only thing was we had assumed our room would be in the main house but we were in a modern room in a separate building. You can request a room in the main house but there are only 6 double bedrooms. Gardens are lovely.Overall would recommend highly 😊

Very nice property, full of charm and character. The bedroom was a little dated, but the bathroom was superbly rennovated and very nice. Breakfast was nothing special - hence the 4 star rather than 5 - but suitable tasty and a decent choice.

The food at dinner was excellent. Cooked to order using quality ingredients, and a very good choice on the menu. My only gripe is someone put 2 beers on my bill. Maybe my fault as said my room number out loud, but maybe the bar staff should have known it was a different person. If the dishonest person who did it reads this then I got it refunded so the hotel lost out, not me.

Lovely room, but smaller than I expected. Woke up the first morning to find the windowsill covered in water due to condensation (we didn’t have radiator on). Second night, we left window open a little bit for air but windows still soaking so clearly a ventilation issue in the building (brew house). Also, walls are paper thin. Could hear everything next door was saying even though they weren’t being overly loud, just having a conversation. People upstairs were just walking around as normal but it sounded like a herd of elephants. Nice decor and amenities, homely feel but lack of sleep due to noise. Great restaurant - breakfast both mornings was amazing and we had dinner one evening which was soooo nice! So not all bad but could’ve been better for such a high end building.
