“We booked a one-night experience for ourselves, our two sons and their respective wives at this highly rated facility as part of our vacation. We arrived early for our check-in, so one of three rooms was available which was fine. The rooms were large but had a musty smell when we entered. The bed was comfortable, but most of the amenities are dated. That said, this was meant to be a “lodge”, so our expectations may have been too high. “Moder, clean rooms w/jacuzzi tub and private outdoor deck.
In floor heating; no noisy AC unit.
Nice grounds to walk with our dog (pet friendly).
Host provided outside movie and got a fire going.
Hot breakfast (scrambled & sausage) plus good fruit, cottage cheese, yoghurt with usual coffee and selection of teas.
Friendly staff who want to help.
Property is well off the road and so peaceful. Restaurants are 5-8 mins away but parking is challenging as these are popular.”

“The Good:
Our stay at Dawn Ranch had several highlights. The gardens are beautiful and well-maintained, providing a great atmosphere. The cottages are comfortable and "nice," and we found the on-site restaurant to be excellent.
The Warning (The "Free" Wine Tasting):
Unfortunately, the experience was marred by a very misleading "free wine tasting" partner event. Having done many tastings in Sonoma and Napa, we expected a standard flight or variety. Instead, it felt like a bait-and-switch:
