Another up-beat Mexican resort trying to cater to everyone. Staff here is excellent as it is in most places in Cozumel. The ownership is central to one family, which makes a difference in their job satisfaction. I think others had mentioned maybe making the Explorean an adults-only resort. I would agree Fiesta Americana would be the great place for kids.

Our trip to the Explorean was amazing. The first impression when we arrived was awe at the lobby and the open-air restaurant. The grounds are so lush and peaceful. Everything is so well maintained and immaculately clean. The staff are all so friendly and ready and willing to help. We loved the fact that we had complete use of Fiesta Americana as well, which was also an equally amazing place, with their pools, pool staff, and restaurants. Staying here we had the best of both worlds...staying in a quiet luxurious jungle, or hitting the more lively pool and waterfront area to snorkel right off the deck in front of the morning buffet restaurant, or just lay on the chairs or beds that were right over the water. The only thing we were not as impressed with, and that is simply our preference and not necessarily anyone else's taste, was the food at the restaurants. We loved the Asian restaurant and the buffet on the water, and the cevicheria on the water. The others fell short with a lot of the selections we made. Again, that is just our impression, and others may absolutely love what they order.

It was absolutely beautiful there. The rooms were clean and tidy at all times, and well stocked. Brenda, our personal concierge was so helpful and sweet. She was able to get us massages and on excursions. She was absolutely amazing.
