“Lovely place to stay out in the country”

“Staff were lovely. Had a long drive and arrived on the cutoff for ordering dinner, but thankfully the staff were kind enough to still let us order. We had both dinner and breakfast, both were absolutely delicious. There was some games we could borrow which we enjoyed playing in the bar, only small disadvantage is the bar closed at 10:30. Room was very clean, stocked with tea and coffee and the extra pillows in the wardrobe was a nice addition. Overall, we had a very peaceful, relaxing stay.”

“We just spent the night there, coming back from a wedding celebration. So didn’t really check the place out much. But I’d definitely recommend the full English veggie b’fast & fresh coffee: very tasty! 🙂”

“Breakfast was good quality. My room was up three sets of stairs in the attic. While of a good size, it wouldn't be easy carrying a suitcase to the room.”

“We stayed here one night as my niece was getting married and having her wedding venue just down the road in the village Hall. The room was lovely, very clean and every thing you would need, to a very high standard. We didn’t eat there so I can’t comment on that.”

“The hotel was great and had a relaxing atmosphere. Good food and the staff were helpful and friendly. The spa was nice but in the smaller side so I would try and go during quieter periods. The room was a good size and very clean. At breakfast there was a good amount to choose from if you don’t have any specific dietary requirements.”

“Good size rooms with a balcony . Comfy beds . Tea and making coffee facilities. Some rooms allow dogs if you book ahead. Excellent choice for breakfast.”

“Lovely welcome to this lovely renovated village pub and hotel. Lovely public rooms and our bedroom was cosy, warm and good to be in. Excellent bathroom. Dinner was fine, breakfast was excellent,”

“We had a very unique, characteristic room which was tidy and the bathroom, spotless. A fun way of having breakfast, with a continental style left in the fridge overnight, consisting of fruit, oats, cereal and pastries / muffins. Fresh milk and juice also provided. Although there are no staff on site, they were contactable to assist with a little teething problem which was resolved easily. Only downside to the front of the building is the road noise, but nothing that can be done about that. No……

“Our room decor was very tired and tatty, the shower was no more than warm, the plug in the sink was broken and the shower had no hand held wand so you had to get wet all over. The bed was comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was ok.”

“The Dundas Arms is a warm welcoming hotel in an interesting setting between canal and river on the edge of a lovely village. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed. The restaurant was busy with good service and a good menu of delicious food. The staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient. It was our diamond wedding celebration and we were well looked after and given complimentary bubbly to celebrate. We had a most enjoyable 3 days and consider Dundas an ideal country venue and……

“Overalls are good.”
