My husband and I visited the island for the first time.Sea Shanty was a great centrally located base for our beach vacation. Beach is beautiful and it was great to have a private pool.

Sweet "Sea Shanty" Retreat

Enjoyed our stay at Sea Shanty. The cottage was comfortable, the property was nice and the pool was a bonus. The rooftop deck was a great place to relax with morning coffee, evening beverage and star gazing. The path to the beautiful beach across the road was great.

Rustic but very comfortable in a great location. Perfect for what we wanted for a family of 5 getaway and New Year.Sunset cocktails on the upstairs terrace particularly memorable.

Comfortable Island Cottage

Sea Shanty was just what we needed for a quick weekend stay. Conveniently located on the island and our absolute favorite beach is right down the path across the street.

Relaxing Beach GEtaway

The location is fantastic, the house is relaxed and comfortable--it makes you feel like you are relaxing. There were sand fleas on the beach which ate us right up for the entire week--maybe this was just a fluke for this time of year? Nice stay.

Amazing experience at Sea Shanty

Sea Shanty was a great VRBO. - less than a 5 minute walk from the beach with clearly marked private trail -very private, clean, and in the middle of everything - All appliances and cooking utensils were working - great view of stars at night from private deck - amazing hosts that will answer right away when you contact. Deffinately recommend staying here.

A perfect island shanty! Well thought out with everything you need for a stay. The hosts were great, the place was clean, the AC worked well, the location is great, very private, and we had a blast!

Super stay at Sea Shanty

We loved our time at Sea Shanty! Our 11 year old had fun in the pool and zip line, and we felt like we had the gorgeous beach out front to ourselves. Would love to return!

Nice little cottage

Cute little house. Great location. I think the bed linens are all ready to be updated. Also, it’s nice that beach chairs are provided but they also need to be updated. Otherwise, it was good!

This property is an absolute gem!! Eleuthera on its own is simply remarkable, and what Jethro and his family have created just outside of Governor’s Harbor is nothing short of amazing. Our family of four have never been more relaxed, nor have we been surrounded by such beauty. Thank you, Jethro!!

Cute little cabin snuggled in paradise.

Sea shanty was adorable. The pool was awesome. The owner came the first day to make sure everything was good and gave advice on what to do and where to go on the island. The beach is a very short walk, just across the street. Short walk to Tippy’s for great food and cold beer.

Unwind at the cottage!

Our family of 4 (with 2 kids) had a great time at the Sea Shanty! It was our first time visiting the island and it was the perfect base to explore the island. The cottage is very clean, true to the pictures and was perfectly outfitted with everything you need to be self sufficient! The backyard has a nice clean pool and we especially loved morning coffee on the upper patio. Jethro our host was super responsive (within minutes) and very accommodating!The beach is across the street, down a short 5-10 walk in either direction which was awesome! There’s a small grocery store in town and some great restaurants within 5-10 min drive. We’d come back in a heart beat!

Lovely Sea Shanty!

We enjoyed our 10-day stay. The sweet house was everything we expected—Clean, well designed and organized, and close to Governor’s Harbor as well as points north and south. The weather was hotter than we expected, but AC worked well. I especially enjoyed daily “workouts in the small and very clean pool. Jethro, who lives nearby, was particularly helpful with suggestions for restaurants and activities. Highly recommend.

Perfect Escape

Sea Shanty is a wonderful escape from reality. Situated a mere 5 min walk from some of the best beaches I’ve ever experienced. We walked miles each day and only saw a handful of people. The rental has everything you need and Jethro was very welcoming. My highlights would be: Sunrise yoga on the lower terrace Having my morning cup of tea on the upper terrace Using the jungle cut-through to go walking on the beach Afternoon pina coladas by the pool (the rental has a blender) Afternoon napping on the hammock We most definitely will be back!

Perfect for adventure!

I searched for months for the perfect rental on this island. I landed on sea shanty because of its proximity to the beach, and central location on the island. Perfect location to explore each end of the island with ease. The sea shanty is not insulated, but has plenty of AC split units/wall units to keep it cool. We cooked the majority of our stay and had everything we needed provided! Beach chairs, cooler bags, umbrella, and snorkel gear was also at the house. A few games were provided as well. The owner was amazing. Above and beyond! Would definitely stay here again, or use his larger property that’s right beside this one if we brought more family along! You can’t go wrong with this listing!

Sea Shanty is a gem!

Jerome’s place is a gem! This was our second stay here, and we were so happy to be back. The location is great. Sea Shanty is close to amenities yet has a very private feel. The beach access is less than a 5 minute walk down a palm tree lined path that is just across the street. Tippy’s is a short (10-15min) walk down the beach. This year we made a visit to the Leon Levy Preserve – which is a short drive from the house, and well worth a stop. The house itself is very comfortable and tidy. While we rarely felt the need for the a/c, it was nice to have on the few occasions when we wanted to take the humidity out. The upper deck is a great spot for coffee/tea in the morning. The backyard is like a mini sanctuary. The plunge pool was amazing. Just perfect for a quick dip after a day out exploring the island. Jerome was available for questions, but never intrusive. He is also terrific at making suggestions for restaurants, as well as beaches/activities to do. We had another fantastic stay and hope to be back next year!

Amazing Everything!!

We went for a 5 day stay on the island and I saw this listing and I really loved what I saw. Everything was MORE than the listing. Jethro, the owner, is just an absolutley AMAZING host. He will give you thorough instructions on not only the property but on everything from where to shop to what to go see. He covers EVERYTHING, we hit almost all the things on the list and it was just a blast. Communication with Jethro is excellent, when we needed something which was twice, Jethro responded immediatly and delivered promptly. The property is secluded and the views are simply great! You really are within minutes of the beach and town.There is a porch on the second story and it's perfect, not only can you see all around, but the sky at night is just stunning... We laid on the deck one night and just watched the clouds pass over the moon with a perfect breeze and the sound of the ocean waves crashing. Truly remarkable.Fwiw we made our own breakfast onsite.. there was an eggpan I used and a toaster for my english muffins, there are other things to cook with too I just made breakfast though. It was very convienent to have these things to keep the cost from eating out a little lower. We took home leftovers and while there is a microwave.. we never ate the leftovers.. lol.. oh well... If you get a chance to stay here then you will absolutley NOT regret it!!Thanks Jethro you rock brother!!!
