"I stayed for three nights as a solo traveler in one of the garden suites. Overall, I think this is an excellent resort that is affordable, clean, with a gorgeous beach very friendly staff I did not do full board but was able to order off the lunch menu for dinner and overall the food was good.
I saw snakes, huge centipedes, lots of different species of fish, hermit crabs bush babies, and other types of lizards. I think this would be really cool if your child is into animals. If you’re interested in snorkeling, bring your own mask. There is only one at the resort and it’s quite scratched up. Also- bring sunscreen as it’s $50USD at the resort. Also, the beach is not really accessible if you’re handicapped because the one stair to the ocean is several feet from the sand and you have to jump off of it.
The hotel is only about 30 minutes from Stonetown in the airport which makes it really convenient if you are only there for a few days.
I had a massage, which was excellent. I booked through Expedia so I got 20% off of spa service and a free drink. I will definitely be back with my family. "
"I had a wonderful stay at Park Hyatt Zanzibar overall — the service, rooms, location in Stone Town, and breakfast were all excellent and met the Park Hyatt standard.
However, the beach/oceanfront experience was very disappointing. I specifically paid extra for an oceanfront room, expecting serene views, but instead the shoreline is dominated by ugly docked boats and ferry traffic, which completely takes away from the view and atmosphere. The beach area itself offers little to nothing in terms of relaxation or beauty.
It’s a great hotel, but if you’re booking for an oceanfront or beach experience, manage your expectations — it’s not what the upgrade suggests."
"Near the airport. Very comfortable beds and beautiful room. Nice breakfast and great personnel. Being with kids, we preferred staying in this nice location instead of Stone Town which
is very crowded and then having a walking tour to Stone Town. Would come again."
