"We had a very pleasant stay at this spacious and comfortable home, which was well-suited for our larger group. The garden was a particular highlight, offering ample space and the added delight of fresh fruit to pick. The location is great, being within a short walking distance of the beach and sea (20mins). The property was generally tidy, there were a few spiderwebs which luckily didn't have any spiders. If these were removed it would enhance the experience. Parking proved somewhat challenging...

The Chatsworth Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel was stunning, with an antique elevator and wonderful staff who upgraded my room to a full sea view suite! the bed was so comfy and ginormous, and the bath was incredible. The whole place was super clean and modern. I will say, the room is showing signs of wear. Orange (tan?) stains on the marble, bubbling wallpaper under the mirror over the sink and marks on the paintwork, but none of this could take away from the immaculately clean room and gorgeous bed."

Best Western York House Hotel

"I was very disappointed with my stay at the Best Western in Eastbourne. The hotel feels very outdated and poorly maintained. There was no air conditioning in the room, only a small fan, which was uncomfortable especially during warmer weather. The room itself looked tired, with old carpets and paint peeling off in places. The bed was made from metal tubes and felt unstable and shaky every time I moved. The mattress was also very old and even stitched in some areas, which did not feel hygienic or comfortable. Breakfast was very basic and not particularly enjoyable. Overall, the hotel did not meet my expectations and certainly did not feel good value for money. I would not choose to stay there again."

"Lovely small, well-maintained hotel in the heart of medieval Rye. Comfy room, great bed. Nice staff. With shout out to Brendan who went the extra e to help return some valuable property we’d left in our room. Even walked the package to the postal office to send it on to us in London. Thanks! Great stay."

"The reception staff were helpful and very nice, we have stayed at this hotel many times and no to take bottles of water whilst in room, I do feel though that at least 2 bottles should be provided it’s not a budget price hotel, the bath plug was blocked which we did inform the reception at check out for future guests ."

"Room was ok. Nice clean bathroom and shower was good. Check in was terrible, it’s a self check in room and no codes were sent, i tried calling the host multiple times via phone and WhatsApp, no response. I had to contact Hotels.com customer service and wait an hour to get a key-code to enter. There was no WiFi, there were instructions on the wall but the router was not present, a neighbour had the same problem. The TV only works on WIFI so no TV. The location is handy being close to the train station and central, but the host needs to either be available to provide guests check in details or if they’re too busy take it off-line so it doesn’t show available for potential guests. Would I stay again?? Yes probably, but I’d be sure to engage with the host to make sure they’re awake before confirming any booking."
