“We stayed at Breakwater in October 2023 with two young families. The apartment is well stocked and worked well for two couples with three kids under 4. Luke was super accomodating and provided us with pack n plays and a high chair, and was also very responsive. Location is great - walk across the street to the harbor to check out boats and birds, or walk down to the village for breakfast or dinner. We loved our stay in Southwest Harbor and at Breakwater. “The property owner was wonderful providing info and help as needed. The kitchen was well equipped for those who like to prepare meals. Staying on the "quiet side" of Mt. Desert Island was good for us. We had easy access to Acadia National Park and could drop into the busyness of Bar Harbor when we wanted that experience.”

“This little house is perfect for a getaway to Acadia. We stayed in late October. If you are looking to get away from the crowds of Bar Harbor, this is it. Surprisingly, it’s not a long drive from town, but it’s so quiet. We did two long full day hikes directly from the house. No need to drive! Check all trails for a trail leading directly from town to the quarry trail to Gorham Peak or the Ocean Trail. We found the short cut only on our way back. Super convenient for home cooked meals, laundry……

“Staff was friendly and helpful from moment we checked in. Room was spacious and had ample windows if we opted not to use AC. Cooked to order breakfast crew was great. Got your breakfast out quickly and always if busy the front desk person was helping out. Loved the afternoon baked goods and wine and cheese on different nights. Nice touch! Shout out to Mariya, Jesse, Sofia and Dianna for offering suggestions and help with info. Great location too!”
