“Overall it was a good stay. Had a few minor issues (key stopped working after 1 day, but front desk quickly resolved; elevator loud and slow, but it got us up/down; they were out of juice for our 2-day stay, but the waffles were good; the walls were a bit thin...the neighbors woke us up in the middle of the night, but we eventually fell back asleep). The location was good, close to the airport, places to eat, etc. I would stay there again if we returned to South Bend. ”

“Whenever I’m in South Bend I stay at candlewood, it’s close to my moms. It’s always clean, the employees are always friendly. ”

“Good location. Good condition. Friendly service. But comparatively higher price to other hotels in the South Bend area. Needed easy, safe parking for a truck and trailer - and could not get this kind of parking at cheaper downtown hotels.”

“Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was very clean in terms of beds, bathroom, etc. Main negative is that the property just seems old, worn, and in need of maintenance. Stained and worn carpets, damaged walls, stained seat cushions etc. I like Microtel Inn but this one is overdue for a renovation/updates. ”
