“Hotel has a lot of potential. Just needs a bit of money spending on it to update rundown and outdated areas. Staff friendly enough and nice breakfast. ”

“The hotel was as always clean and tidy with very polite and helpful staff. The only problem was with the swimming pool and spa area . The pool was very dirty and the jacuzzi was broken apparently broken for a while . This said it is still exceptionally good value and the first time of a few visits that the pool has been below standards. We will definitely go again . ”

“From the outset the reception was chaotic with lots of noisey people. I had to queue for self check-in. I queried why there was a £5 car parking charge when this hadn't been pointed out prior to my booking. I asked why this was and he said because I booked with Expedia. So be careful. The hotel was tired and not worth the money.”

“Hesgehog House is set in a beautiful location with truly splendid views, making it a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The site itself has no amenities, but having your own private hot tub was a real highlight and added to the experience. Unfortunately, cleanliness was an issue on arrival: we found cobwebs stretching from the ceiling to the top bunk in the smallest bedroom, and single-use plastic drink wrappers pushed down between the mattress and bed frame in the second double room. “Perfect location for pen y fan and local walks. The food was amazing however the bar did lack atmosphere and was pretty tatty. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Alot of the decor needs modernisation and attention to detail. We paid more for superior room but there was nothing superior about it other than the room size was slightly larger. Furniture was scratched and damaged and bathroom was very dated and in need of minor repairs. Would have probably been top of range in the 90s but……
