"We loved the location of this property, private feeling and with trees all around. The smells and sounds of summer and nature were very relaxing. We loved the outdoor space and the windows which afforded a lovely view no matter where you looked. It was a like a tree house get away. There are stairs to get to the front door and stairs to get down to the 2nd bathroom and beds on the “basement” level. The downstairs can only be accessed from the outside and is completely separate from the main space. It was so conveniently located to the lake for boat rentals and a market just down the road. 5 minute drive to Chimney Rock’s little Main Street. An hour to Asheville for a day trip. We would stay here again but there were a lot of spiders and webs (you are in nature, in a forested location) so you must sweep them away every time you go out on the deck especially if you have little ones or pets visiting. While we were there the hot tub was broken and the upstairs shower was not working but our host was so kind to refund us for the inconvenience and was very easy to communicate with. It’s a quaint, quirky older property but it has a very relaxing and comfortable air about it. The beds were comfortable and it was a safe, quiet place to stay."
