This is the second time my family has stayed in this property. We loved it so much last year that we booked it right away for the same week the following year. Over that timeframe, it appears that they have changed property management companies. The area that concerned me the most was the cleanliness of the property… Especially with Covid, it did not feel clean. The floors were still dirty. The rugs were so dirty we had to move them to the side so that we wouldn’t walk on them. Several dishes that we took out to use were dirty. Several dishes. The grill was dirty. The windows were so dirty we couldn’t see out of them. The bedding comforters did not have a duvet cover. So were we sharing bedding with the previous guests?? It just didn’t feel clean.
We enjoyed reading the personal owner story last year but it’s a shame to see this place like this. It needs some updates but we can handle that. The nice little touches that we enjoyed last fall break, were no longer there. The view is fantastic. We love the low-key location.
Our check in process was frustrating. We were told on the phone we could check in early. We went to the grocery store to buy all of our groceries only to find out that we couldn’t check in early. I had a car full of cold foods and there was no consideration. The lady at Newman-Dailey reservations was very rude. She said it needed to be inspected. After I told her I’d sit and wait for them to come, an hour later, the inspector came … stayed about 5 minutes… wiped the grill with a paper towel (which was still left dirty) & then we could enter. Why didn’t she check the dishes? Or windows? Or floors? I’ll think twice after staying in another rental managed by Newman-Dailey as well.
