“We paid full price for a king room but on arrival room was just so small and dingy with just 12 inches clearance around the side of the bed, with a tiny little velux window in the roof. The bathroom was about 2m x 1m with a small shower which was filthy. If you get allocated Room 55 at reception then ask to change as there is no way 2 adults can comfortably fit in that room. They said they were full so we couldn’t change. Also when we arrived the room door was open which was really……

“The room is newly renovated and car park place is good location. Breakfast is must buy item, otherwise you will be sorry to miss this delicious.”

“There were build works outside by terrace overlooking lake with cement mixer and angle grinder cutting stone most of the day the Saturday I was there . Not the best idea with patrons sitting there by temporary plastic tape eating and drinking . Perhaps a fencing of sorts to obscure the works ?”

“Very poor experience. I have travelling 3 or 4 times every year for the past 20 years. Except the staff in the front desk and health club showed me welcoming. The waitresses in the restuant made sounds and faces behind me during the buffer breakfast. The waitress even did not know I could order and pay online during dinner. Are they trying to embarass the asian faces? Also smelly and stain in the guest room, no refigerator and safe, what kind of experience could not expected.”

“Overall stay was okay, venue in itself was clean and well maintained. However there was no restaurant open due to a conference being held, only the bar was open with a limited menu. Food took over an hour to arrive and staff had to be reminded several times. On arrival food was cold and at that point not enjoyable for the overly expensive price.”

“The hotel is going through a transitional period. Old vs New, I'd say. Some parts of the hotel are tired and would benefit from a deep clean while in the central areas the hotel has modernised and freshened up. The beds, linen all main facilities were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and service good.”

“My room was at the side of the building, it was quiet, reasonably cool given the hot weather, the shower was fine, the really good thing about it is the location.Ten mins from the railway s tree action, plenty of places to eat, and good walks”

“The staff at the Ragged Robin were delightful, always helping out and answering any questions we had. Shout out to Harrison for being so welcoming! We truly enjoyed our stay and loved enjoying a non alcoholic draft beer in the garden overlooking the canal. Truly a beautiful place to unwind. We will be back!”
