“My wife and I had a wonderful time at the cottage! Balpha was so welcoming and called to check in on us since we had to arrive late at night. It was a real treat getting to see DeSoto Falls from the second floor bedroom, and being so close we were able to walk there! Truly we were just in awe that this is where we were staying - the kitchen was so cute and had everything we needed to cook with, the bed were comfortable (nice soft mattress!), and there was so much space to just hang out and relax……

“This was our second time to come and stay at this cozy little mountain top retreat. Stunning views. Everything you need to stay in, or venture out. We love the Mentone and Fort Payne area. So many waterfalls and hiking trails. An outdoor lovers dream away from the hustle and bustle of city life, yet close to all the necessities for a short or extended stay. Highly recommend.”

“Our stay was absolutely wonderful. I love rustic and this was rustic with a lot of character. I live how the house was decorated. The views of the lake were absolutely breathtaking. The sunrise on the lake was soothing. The beds were comfortable. Some might take issue that some things are dated and need some work. The beauty and rustic vibes totally made it for us. We will stay here again. ”
