“Did not like the pet fee. based on the information from Expedia, pet was supposed to be $50.00. They charged me $75.00”

“Both room and hotel were very clean. My room was a little be noisy due to next to working space and dining area. Except that everything is very good to me.”

“The room was clean. We didn't eat breakfast but what they had would have been good. They just bought the business and are still in the learning process.”

“We reserved the room after 5:00P on the same day we were going to stay there. The information said that I would be sent a key box code to retrieve the keys to the cottage since the office closes at 5:00. We arrived around 7:00. Nobody sent a code. Nobody answered the after-hours line, and nobody at Expedia could get a hold of the property contact. I left a message on the voice mail, but I couldn't just sit there outside the property waiting to see if anyone would respond. I was with my daughter……

“Easy and friendly check in. Feels more like a hybrid fact/hotel hybrid. Rooms were clean and dining area/check in was clean. Wish this had more and hope the area around gets rebuilt to bring more dining options that complement the hotel. The service portion is there- very friendly. Hope century bar and grill or a breakfast location opens nearby.”

“I really enjoyed my stay there with my mom! The Candelia Cafe had such delicious food, chef Smajo was amazing! We did come during the rain season (june) and so there were a lot of mosquitos but general store did have bug spray. I would still bring your own just in case! If you are driving, come on the Alpine side! It was such a beautiful place to be and to be off the grid. The staff helped us with whatever we needed and it felt right out of a Western movie.”

“My son and I stayed here and it was absolutely gorgeous. The pool is open 24 hours and was beautifully refreshing in the desert heat. Highly recommend this place. They are great staff and care so much about protecting the environment of Big Bend region. 10/10”

“No wi-fi and no tv were two of the main perks. The dark skies and end of the road location were the main attraction. The nearby hiking trails and endless beauty were the surprise. The desert had just had rain so it was blooming everywhere (luck, not good timing) which added to the awe. The room was dated but clean and neat. Only disappointment was that the restaurant was being remodeled so the option was a food truck. AS someone who has lived nearly 40 years in Texas, I was surprised and……

“The location is only 4 minutes drive to Big Bend which is a big plus for us. We stayed there 4 nights, and the host is responsive and keep the trash in our room cleaned every day. The check in and check out thrue texting is also convenient for us because we check in late and check out early thanks to the smart door lock. The layout is practical and in room appliances (microwave, fridge, hair blower) are also help us staying in there for easy breakfast and dinner. Overall, I recommend this……

“Danny, the onsite manager, was a godsend. I arrived unexpectedly early and he did his best to accommodate. Don't judge a book by its cover, this place is a real find.”

“This is a motel set up, so all doors are exterior doors. Watch out for bugs flying in at night. The location is very convenient to the McDonald observatory. After we were exhausted from the Star Party, it was nice to have the closest motel. Breakfast we the standard continent hotel breakfast. Bedroom seemed updated, but the carpet needs to be replaced. Bathroom needs an upgrade but the manager said they are planning to do that soon. Air conditioner needs to be cleaned and updated too.”
