“This is an ideal hotel for those seeking a quiet restful location away from the busy large hotel experience. The staff are amazing, and the tranquility of the gardens wonderful. The garden rooms are getting tired and need a refurbishment which apparently is happening in a few months time. The food at breakfast, lunch and dinner is exceptional, and the location of the hotel is ideal for walks either to the Port and center or away to the promenade, the lido and rock pools. A definite for those……

“The Perestrello has recently been refurbished and our room on the 2nd floor of the annex was lovely. The bed was comfy, the room had plenty of storage/hanging space, a good size safe, small refrigerator and quiet air conditioning. The bathroom was spotless with a walk in rain fall shower. Our room had a balcony which got the sun until early afternoon. We used the pool in the garden as well as the one in the adjoining (by a short bridge) Miramar. The gardens and pool areas are really well cared……

“Very clean in all areas, Great central location, staff extremely attentive and friendly. Only downside is the gym which is very small but was not ann inconvenience . Otherwise perfect. ”

One of the best complimentary breakfasts with a ton of variety. We loved the heated indoor pool, sauna and steam room. Overall we can’t say a bad word about it. We would def come back!”

“Schöner Außenpool (nicht beheizt), hübsche kleine Anlage, Zentrum fußläufig zu erreichen (ca. 500 Meter den Berg runter vorbei am Hafen durch einen schönen Park). Etwas in die Jahre gekommene Zimmer, aber gut ausgestattet. Für einen Städtetrip als Familie zu empfehlen.”

“Wir waren jetzt zum dritten Mal in diesem Hotel und sind auch weiterhin sehr zufrieden. Besonders positiv sind auch Frühstück und Abendessen zu erwähnen. Die Getränkepreise beim essen und an der Bar sind etwas hoch aber noch angemessen. Der Innenpool ist zwar etwas klein und mit Säulen auch etwas verbaut aber zur richtigen Zeit nicht so voll und dann reicht auch der Platz. Das Abendprogramm ist gut, würde aber wahrscheinlich etwas besser besucht sein wenn das Programm nicht zum Teil mit den……

“The hotel is located near the coast and near a majority of attractions in Funchal. Our stay here was nice and comfortable with no real highlights or lowlights to speak of, and that is a compliment, we admired the cozy painless experience. The outdoor pool was absolutely freezing with the outdoor temperature being 20 degrees, though that was more due to the breeze. The rooftop bar is quite nice and cozy to chill at after a day out in the city !”
