Stayed for 4 nights for our honeymoon and it was OK. We got a deal and only paid $425 a night for a villa. If we paid full price, which I think is around $800-$900, I would have been super disappointed, as it’s not worth that much. I enjoy a lot of seafood and variety of food, and I found the food to be quite good. My wife is a little bit pickier and struggled to find things to eat since the Buffett is small. The hotel seemed a little run down, and some things seemed dirty. The villa room seemed fine/nice and we didnt have any issues with that. The staff are really nice, and service for food and drinks were fast and friendly. They try to focus on their premium membership a lot, and not all things are included unless you upgrade to their membership, which I think is $100+ per month. When I go to an all inclusive, I want everything to be included, not only included if I join their membership program. Since the island the hotel is on is so small, there’s not much to do at the resort. So plan on walking to main land isla mujeres, unless you like sitting on the beach all day.

The service is exceptional! Probably one of the best service we have received, and we travel to many places. I have celiac so I was a bit worried about the food situation, but they were amazing, always letting me know what is gluten free and also grilling me fresh fish and meats to ensure no cross contamination. They also have gluten free pancakes and pasta which is incredible! I need to point out that a few days into our stay I mentioned that the room felt slightly dated, although it honestly wasn’t a major concern because everything else was so great. But Rich at the concierge desk insisted on upgrading us to the honeymoon suite and it was absolutely beautiful with stunning views. I also want to thank Javier, who took my celiac disease seriously, and made me feel completely comfortable throughout our stay, Rich for the incredible upgrade and for making our holiday even more special, JC at the beach for always keeping our drinks filled with a smile, and Jerry our waiter at the buffet for incredible service! We are so grateful for the care, kindness, and exceptional service we’ve received!

JC is hands down the best server in Mexico! We travel to MX a lot and love it in Isla Mujeres! Also… the bartenders Luis, Ricardo 1 and 2…. Richie!!!! Make sure you make it a point to meet them. They will always let you know the best things on the island. I can’t wait to come back. Already booking for our next trip. MIA has the best beach and views ever! Thanks again. Upon arriving at Mia Reef Resort, it was immediately clear that something was off. The property is extremely outdated and does not reflect the photos advertised online. The lobby was cluttered with numerous suitcases while guests waited for their rooms to become available. Fortunately, our room was ready upon arrival, which spared us additional waiting after a long day of travel. However, the issues began as soon as we entered the room. The door was old, worn down, and poorly maintained. There was a noticeable odor throughout the room, and the view from the window was unacceptable—a stained white wall. The bed linens were visibly stained, and the pillows appeared unsanitary, with marks that resembled bodily-fluid stains. The bathroom was extremely small with minimal ventilation, making it uncomfortable to use. The hotel is in serious need of renovation. Additionally, the room was not soundproof at all—we could clearly hear people walking in the hallways and slamming doors throughout our stay. Due to these issues, I went to the front desk to request a room change. Instead of addressing the condition of the room, I was only offered an upgrade at an additional cost. It felt unfair to be asked to pay more after being completely misled by the hotel’s online photos. So we only were on the resort two hours before checking out and leaving. Unfortunately, the experience worsened when it came to the food. The quality was very poor—bland and unappetizing.

Great experience! Buffet had very good food all the time. Staff was great, especially JC at the beach! JC had a great energy and made for a great experience on the beach! Private beaches were very nice and the resort was great place to leave from to explore the island.

The beach and the staff take all the credit. Everyone is very friendly and eager to help. Javi at the buffet breakfast was fantastic, and also Jerry. Roberto at the Cevicheria makes you feel at home and he is very polite and prompt to serve you and the guys at the bar are all great!

Debemos entender que este hotel esta situado en una isla d isla por tanto el mantenimiento de este hotel debe ser muy constante para que se pueda mantener Las habitaciones en muy buenas condiciones la verdad desde la limpieza de las mismas. La atención del lugar en cuanto el personal del hotel muy servicial las personas del restaurante y del aérea de la playa muy atentas en cuanto la playa espectacular la limpieza exterior del hotel muy buena. Lo único como recomendación positiva es que deben mejor la extracción de los baños o que dispongan de algún positivo para mejorar el olor pero es algo a mejorar en un futuro. Muy recomendable para venir con familia amigos en parejas y demás lo recomiendo al 100% muy feliz de mi estancia al igual que mi esposa

Upon arrival at the hotel after a long and exhausting journey, the reception desk was busy assisting another guest, and there was no one else available to check us in. As a result, it took approximately 30 minutes before it was our turn to be checked in. I requested to have the balcony light turned off. Since phone calls were not answered, I had to go to the front desk in person. Even then, it took more than 30 minutes for the light to be turned off. My return airport transfer, for which I paid 75 USD, never showed up even after waiting for over one hour. When I later requested a refund for this unused service, I received no response. The service response time was unacceptable. Almost every request took about one hour to receive a response, and reception never answered phone calls. Additionally, only one blanket was provided for two guests, and we were given only one small bottle of water per person per day. Overall, the level of service and cleanliness did not meet the standards expected of a five-star hotel. On a positive note, the variety of food and beverages was good, and the location and ocean were absolutely beautiful.

The beach spot this resort sits in would be enough to easily give this resort a 5 star rating. However everything else is subpar. The food choice is the same every day and lacks taste. They don’t have enough beach towels for everyone so if you get one, you’re likely not able to get a clean one and end up reusing it. Rooms are outdated. No privacy in the bathroom, you can see through. They now charge for the cevicheria, which used to be included and was a highlight food choice. Oh and they also don’t believe in guacamole anymore so even after paying for ceviche, it tastes bland. Whoever runs this resort seems more focused on cost cutting than customer satisfaction. This was my 3rd time staying there and it left me not wanting to go back.

Chambre propre mais grand besoin de rénovation (moisissure dans la douche, l’air chaude extérieur qui rentre par la porte patio, etc.). La vue du balcon était magnifique. Odeur d’égouts près de la piscine ce qui est moins attirant pour y rester. Peu de chaise également à la piscine. Buffet très petit et ordinaire. Peu de choix de restaurant sur place, nous avons été souper à l’extérieur presque chaque soir. Arrivée là-bas, frais surprise comme 1 restaurant non inclus, le café est un Starbuck donc payant, etc. Plage et emplacement parfait. Ne devrait pas être côté 5 étoiles.

This is a truly beautiful resort with outstanding service from all staff. Everything was excellent—the food and drinks, the clean and well-maintained beach and pool, and the comfort throughout the property, from the lounge chairs to the rooms and restaurants. We felt relaxed and well cared for at all times. A special thank-you to JC, our beach and pool server, who made our stay exceptional. His attentiveness, friendliness, and consistency stood out every day, and his service genuinely enhanced our experience more than any other amenity. JC represents the high standard of hospitality at this resort and deserves special recognition. We would absolutely return, and this resort will quickly become a favorite for anyone visiting Isla Mujeres.

Balcony view was nice, we booked double beds in tve room for family of four, we got a king and a small cot, told us we needed to confirm via phone before the trip. So do call ahead to make sure they have what you booked ahead.
