Overall, it was a good experience. The problem was more Expedia that states it has 24 hour shuttle access and this is NOT true. It was very stressful and scary to have to find a way to get to the resort but staff at the airport helped us out. At the resort, the staff was nice but like 2-3 times we got staff members that did not look happy but seemed to expect or hint out wanting a tip. The room was amazing but again I had to call for a room clean up after having requested it and after a long day of being out. Other than that I would have to add the resort needs more shows or amenities. Not much to do on the resort but we were ok with it since we went to just relax. Rooms and majority of staff members made the stay pleasant. Oh don’t forget to RSVP for dinner. We struggled to get dinner because no one told us this. Food was delicious so that’s a plus.

It was a 3 night vacation. Upon arrival and check-in, we were constantly pushed to schedule a visit to their new resort as if they were selling a timeshare. They offered credits to be used in the resort and help with restaurant bookings within the resort. When declined to book for a visit to their new hotel, staff’s attitude changed immediately and they no longer had time for us. The hotel only 4 restaurants and i could not get a reservation at top 3 restaurants for the first 3 days and was able to get a booking on our last day. Ate the same food at the same mediocre restaurant for 3 days…. Room was okay, but all water bottles in the room were all opened and half drunken by previous user of the room and the towels were beyond dirty that i had to show the condition to the housekeeping staffs who merely acted surprised and replaced the towels. For 3 nights of resort stay, i would never use this facility again as they were only focused on pushing their hotel patrons to visit their new timeshare type property when we declined twice. It seems without confirmation to visit their new property, getting a reservation at one of their 4 restaurants in the property was not possible. Not worth the hassle and our money

Beautiful all around. Great water and great beach. Resort credits are not dollar for dollar and can’t be used on many things, so just beware if you’re offered a ton of them, it’s not as good as it sounds. Plus you pay 16% tax on top of it on the cost (which we noticed were inflated prices, so just beware) Aside from that, it’s an amazing place. Food is great and service is spectacular everywhere. The crowd is older, so it’s much more relaxed and laid back. Not a place to get drunk and act wild, just a place to unwind, take time to enjoy the amazing turquoise aqua water and ditch the winter! The Thai restaurant is delicious and so is Aurora, which has Mexican favorites. Quality of everything is top notch. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bed is comfy and sheets soft! We didn’t want to leave!

Sun Palace Resorts has been the worst place I've ever stayed in. I booked an ocean view room w/ 1 king bed for my anniversary on Valentines Day weekend. I get there and they tell me they don't have the room I paid money for ready and they never "promise" rooms even if you paid for them, they offered me a twin bed w/ a view or a king bed w/ no view. I tried talking to guest relations at the resort and they did nothing for me except put all the blame on Expedia saying I would have to contact Expedia for any help. He also promised that I would hear back from him the next day if any rooms become available & I never did. Not only that but they never offered any sort of compensation for not having the room I paid for ready for me. There were no decorations I requested in the room. Nothing offered to help support me coming to this resort for this special weekend. They offer you $500 in resort credits that you can't even use. I was speaking to someone from the spa through text message and they told me a regular massage was $230 and I could only use $100 resort credits towards it. I chose not to get the massage here and never confirmed a massage as I went outside the resort to get one. On checkout, I find out that they charged me the resort credits & $$ on top of that for a "canceled massage." Had to waste my time speaking with someone from the massage center while checking out and trying to get to the airport for them to take the charges off. Good thing I had the texts as proof

We had an amazing dinner at the Mexican restaurant & the Italian restaurant! The su chef is amazing & his chefs are also amazing! The wait staff went above & beyond as did the wine guy !!

Scam You'll be promised lots of resorts credits. And you'll be told you can use x amount on the spa and x amount on anything else. You'll be given a brochure that says the same. They'll hand write notes on it. Then you'll check out and find out that it's all fake. Promised resort credits of $x,xxx. Billed over $xxx..and told resorts credits weren't available..total scam.
