“We recently rented three homes in England - They were all very, very, good. Even with this tough competition, the Mac Shack stood out as an absolutely wonderful stay. From the friendly, helpful, host and hostess and their beautiful, very comfortable home, I cannot imagine a better rental. We have rented many homes from VRBO, some City apartments, country cottages, beautiful villas and even a castle. Mac shack was the equal or better than any other accommodation. Close to ALL amenities in a close, so quiet but everything on its doorstep. Great history behind it too. If you do t go, you will be the loser! ”

“Two adults stayed. Used both bedrooms. Very hot but able to open windows. Enjoyed the upstairs outside deck when we were there. Useful having washing machine. Plenty of street parking, but tight spaces & don’t rely on parking directly outside. Bathroom tiny but fit for purpose. Easy walk to beach front. Thank you ”

“A good property for 3-4 adults, the attic might be good for agile children and teenagers. The eclectic decor is a mixture of Middle Eastern and Baltic. The off road car park is a bit small for family estate cars, but on road parking is free.”

“It was brilliant the only down side is the state of the mattresses and the weirdly raised water waste pipe in the shower room that my child kept hurting himself on. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay, and my teenager loved that there was cool mirrors with a touch screen light ”

“When it says “ Sea View” it means it . Clear view of the bay all the way to the Port of Felixstowe. Very close ( 100 metres) to the beach but on a quiet campus away from the noisy seaside “ attractions “. It is the old Sanitorium to the now closed Felixstowe College. As such the doors and corridors are wide and the rooms spacious. Each room has a door onto the private patio. The rest of the campus seems to be posh flats . We weren’t disturbed at all and the natives seemed friendly. Dad is 92……

“Everything was as listed….the log burner was an added feature which we were happy to use on rainy days. The location was really goid… Colchester close and historically very interesting. North of the city was Constable country… nice walks and interesting info on the artists. South we enjoyed Tiptree museum, and the Salt marshes for walking and photography. Ovreall it was everything we wished for “”
