We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be cruising through the airport and having a ball in El Castillo before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be easy if you pack the right stuff. First things first, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a fresh set of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your phone and charger, any medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of prohibited items can differ between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes tools, metal cutlery, spray paint and fireworks. Sporting equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could harm other people, such as guns and swords, can't come on board with you either.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and pick shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
