"I really enjoyed the expansive Japanese breakfast buffet, 24 hour drink machines/ice pops/milk, inclusive snack/happy hour, and outdoor foot bath. Gora/Chukukonomori Stations are within walking distance as well as a Lawson and several bus stops so transportation during the day is no issue. The private baths had people lined up to wait during peak times when people returned to the hotel from sightseeing, but my partner and I managed to find time in the mornings before the baths were closed for cleaning. Overall, it was a very relaxing stay and great place to return to after a long day of travel!"

"Lovely hotel, rooms and views. Very accommodating, for a price. Comparatively expensive for the other places we stayed in Japan, but they were excellent. Designed to be a resort, it is unnecessary to leave the property but they made everything in the area very easy to access. Common area and restaurants were very pleasant spaces to relax. "

"Staying at this ryokan was the highlight of a 2-week trip to Japan. The staff were stunning and remarkable in their attentiveness to every single detail. We had a little trouble getting there as it required a long bus ride up the mountain and then we took a wrong turn on foot and got lost (but that was our fault). When we arrived, the staff were waiting and came running to us to assist us with our luggage and provide a smooth transition into the tranquility of their "home." We had the same nakai-san throughout our stay. She tended to our every need from breakfast through dinners that extended into the late evenings. She was gracious in every way and made us feel comfortable. The food was the best we had throughout our tour of the country. We had a private onsen that could have been a little cleaner, but the public bath was wonderful on both gender's sides. The rooms were spacious, clean, and stocked with every amenity we could ask for. We opted for full body massages which were sadly not good at all, but that was the only aspect of our stay that was anything short of stellar. We will definitely go back when we return to Japan. If you're staying in Hakone, I can't imagine finding a better or more wonderful accommodation! "

"The most stunning hotel, onsen in each room, great decor, staff very helpful. The shuttle bus to the station was helpful. Hotel general onsen was immaculate and we loved the robes and wooden slippers in our room! Snacks and drinksin the bar were a great touch too "

"Service at the hotel was amazing. Very traditional Japanese hotel. Comfortable beds and bedding great shower. We used taxi to get in and out and spend 1 night only. Our dinner at the Western restaurant ( grill ) was 10 stars. So amazing - expertise , food , service - all Worth it. We had western breakfast. We used bath on the balcony and it was spectacular. I can't recommend this hotel high enough. We also wore kimono all over and to dinner and that too was fun !"
