“Wonderful place to stay and great staff”

“English style hotel. Convenient to go Exeter town centre. I like the breakfast.”

“The room had a comfy bed and a lovely ensuite. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were friendly. I would recommend staying here.”

“Nice sizeable and comfortable room. Unfortunately it was quite hot due to it being on the second floor and after a string of hotter than usual days, not helped by the fact that the heated towel rail (from the hot water system) couldn't be shut off. But a great old pub to stay in all the same. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant.”

“Staff efficient but robotic and lacked empathy. Bedroom tired and the lighting was inadequate when applying make-up. Dim lights might be romantic but a dressing table with a proper lamp so you can see what you look like is essential! Hot water in bathroom basin very slow in coming through and the toilet seat is misaligned ”

“The hotel is modern and clean. The air con was not working in our room and beung unable to open the windows, the room was very hot. I was unable to ring reception to report the issue becase the phone in the toom was not working either, so I had to use my mobile to ring in externally. The staff offered to try to re set the aircon from reception but this did not work. Half an hour later and after a further phonecall, a member of staff bought a stand alone fan to the room. A very disappointing……

“Clean room, comfortable mattress, great buffet breakfast, nice garden, attentive staff. Our room was a bit humid as it was ground floor and heating was not on so it took a few hours to have a warm room.”

“An interesting place and not necessarily in a positive way. The, very few, staff working were lovely and very accommodating, and the food decent but goodness me does the place need an overhaul. Dated, scruffy and not on my list to return to. Sad really as it could be a very beautiful desirable place to stay if time and money were spent on it.”

“Parking was easy and safe. Location of the property was perfect both for accessing Dartmoor and wildlife spotting (lots of unusual birds in the grounds). Staying at Two Bridges was a treat; it is a unique hotel and has an amazing history”

“Booked a valley castle room w king bed for one night in late Sep. Room was very clean with comfy n up to date decor. Room was big enough and soundproof quality was good. Big garden surrounded hotel n we took a pleasant walk the next day. Should have stayed for one or two nights so as to enjoy swimming pool and other facilities. The historical building was well maintained. Very pleasant stay ”
