There was no option to request a main floor room but without even asking Alice offered us a complimentary upgrade to the main floor. She was so sweet "

"We ran into a few kinks on the way there and back home, but every obstacle was worth our stay in the quaint town of Calico Rock. The view from the house and City Rock Bluff didn’t disappoint! My favorite part was running into the game wardens down at the river in Norfork who directed us to places that were even more beautiful. My spouse and I highly recommend staying here, and don’t be afraid to talk to the locals. You’ll be glad you did. Oh, and most things are closed Monday so be sure to plan around it!"

"Everything was excellent. The only suggestion at all that would help is handicap toilets and grab bars. My Mom was on a walker and had difficulty getting up off the stool. No complaints about our stay and will definitely stay again. "

"We visited to watch the eclipse and found the perfect spot for that, but loved the house and its location. Had hoped we could walk into town but not the easiest road. Didn't really matter. Calico Rock is a great town to visit. Great community, lovely people and shops, cafe, bar. Beautiful countryside surrounds it with good walks not far away. Just could have done with a few bits of instructions for the cooker for example, but Steven was very responsive when we messaged him. Hot tub didn't get used much, but great when we did. Isolated location apart from neighbours behind, but they were lovely people and we enjoyed our chats. Not the host's fault, but Arkansas needs to get recycling! It is not a state generally chosen for holidays from the UK but we're glad we did and the Ozarks are a wonderful place to stay."
