“Room was great, couldn’t complain. Understanding it is currently a heatwave AC will struggle and only place to cool down was lobby. Would have been great if pool times were extended due to heat. Activities - didn’t really see anything apart from water volleyball nor was I once approached and asked if I’d like to join. Been told that due the heat, only water sports and stretching is happening. Staff were excellent through out the stay! On to the hotel food - breakfast, lunch, snacks were fine……

“Beautiful room, excellent pools, really lovely environment. Staff very smiley, polite and helpful. Almost faultless. They arranged taxis as needed. Spa was also wonderful. However….. Bottle of water 1L cost £6-7, air con hugely noisy, bed very uncomfortable, staff v e r y s l o w to serve drinks / food once ordered. It’s a new set-up so I have no doubt it will improve.”

“Where we stayed at the Oasis Camp was lovely. Clearly it was a newer addition to the Barcelo Resort and it was beautifully appointed and quiet. At night they would light a fire in the center of all the "tents" which made for a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately, the rest of the Barcelo resort has gone somewhat to seed. It was clearly in it's heyday 20 years ago or so and not much has been done to improve on it since. There were multiple amenities (volleyball, tennis, lake) that weren't well……

“If you are looking for beautiful rooms, excellent staff, no need to rush to get your towel on a sun bed and peace and quiet then this is the hotel to stay in. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left the staff were so friendly and helpful. The sun beds are very comfortable. The pool has three different depths so good for a cooling dip. Relaxing around the pool is just that, total relaxation. We loved the breakfast on the table outside our room. Evening meals were delicious. We had……

“I had a lovely stay at PL Place. It was quiet, relaxing and the staff were so lovely to us and treated us very kindly which we appreciated so much. If you like calm and luxury, this is the place for you. There was a staff member who was so lovely in the day time who helped move our sun beds, umbrella around etc. and a very lovely staff member who worked in the evenings and made sure lighting would be on when we were walking in and out late. The staff at the gate were so lovely. And Also the……

“1000/10 This property was a complete oasis the most peaceful place I’ve ever stayed. Even though Marrakesh is very hot because of all the greenery it was a very nice temperature inside and outside. The rooms were extremely clean if you are barefoot your feet are going to be clean the whole time and it smells very good. The blanket smell freshly clean and they had white sheets. The breakfast was a traditional Moroccan breakfast with all the traditional foods. We will always come back to this……

“Point positif : taille humaine, personnel souriant et courtois, musique discrète, propreté, piscine superbe, cuisine et spécialités marocaines délicieuses (succulents!) hygiène irréprochable, personnel très discret notamment autour de la piscine, je ne parle meme pas du hammam....la dame qui le fait est douee, merci! Point d amélioration : une grande majorité de la carte sont des plats italiens (alors que la cuisine marocaine faite sur place est délicieuse...venir au Maroc pour manger des……

“Hotel is very old not matching the pictures. AC is cooling only the office area not the room. we have suffered and couldn’t sleep due to exhaustion of the heat. Mold everywhere in the bathroom. Toilet cover was broken. The cafeteria was extremely hot we were sweating while eating.”

“There’s no doubt this is a stunning property. We stayed in a delux villa which was also beautifully furnished. Being Relais & Chateâux we expected service to be of very high standard which it certainly was not. There’s clearly a lack of leadership and proper training.”
