“The view was beautiful and one of the highlights of our stay. However, the room is in need of upgrades, and the floors appeared muddy and not properly cleaned upon arrival. Better housekeeping and maintenance would greatly improve the overall experience.”

“I would say Bluebeard’s Castle itself is beautiful and has some of the best views on the island. The biggest downside is that St. Thomas has occasional power outages, so the electricity will likely go out at some point during your stay. However, they seem to get it back up and running pretty quickly. A few things to know before booking: only the rooms have air conditioning; the rest of the property does not. The resort is built on a steep hill and has a lot of stairs, so if you have mobility……

“It’s a stunning, unique hotel. One great way to keep the wrong people from visiting? Tell them that there are no televisions in the rooms! From my perspective, that’s a big plus! And it signals that this hotel, combines luxury, history, and is aimed at the type of traveler who did not come to watch TV..”

“We stayed in a 2 bedroom cottage, and we thought the rooms looked very nice. We had an issue with the cottage being warm most of the night as well as the TV not working properly. We reached out to staff, and they didn’t contact us until the next morning, which is when we were leaving. When we vacation, our non-negotiables are clean, comfortable rooms, and unfortunately, the second item wasn’t met. Also important to know that the only walkable food option is their restaurant, which does not……

“The Island View was charming, the views were fantastic, and the staff were friendly and attentive! We had an earlier morning and they were very kind to make us a breakfast to go. Food was great! If I had to come up with any complaint it would be that the pool (shaded for a good portion of the day) was a bit chilly, but my husband didn’t mind that.”

“St John Inn has an incredible ambiance that makes it a wonderful experience all round. It is tucked into an eclectic part of Cruz Bay that may not work for everyone.
