「I really wanted to love this property because the location is beautiful, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. We stayed here from June 16–23 with a group of seven. During our stay, our section of the property experienced repeated power outages while other areas of the hotel still had electricity. We also went two nights without hot water. We found insects in our room during our stay. I understand that this is a tropical destination and seeing an occasional bug is expected, but...

「The Grand Roatan defintely had the feel of a 5-star resort, but what impressed me the most was the staff. The front desk reached out multiple times throughout my stay to see that my needs were met, and everyone I met remembered my name after our first encounter which was impressive. Marine life is abundant as soon as you walk into the ocean. We paid for a night snorkel on the other side of the island, but honestly, everything you'd want to see is right in front of the property. 「There is no walking access to the beach or coast. This is not mentioned on Expedia the hotel website or anywhere. Only via bus then boat during specific scheduled times. The jacuzzis advertised are not accessible without additional purchase or payment at the spa. Again this was not visible on any part of the reservation. 「If you’re looking for a tranquil and relaxing experience, away from tourists attractions, Las Verandas is the place. The grounds are well kept and the ocean views are spectacular. The restaurant on site and the poolside bar were amazing. Waitstaff very pleasant and attentive. The beach was very rocky therefore not conducive to swimming but the 2 infinity pools made up for that. We will definitely be returning for another week’s stay.」

Good ac as well My only complaint was the mattress was not comfortable. There was a big lump right where you lie and the sides of the bed tapered so you feel like you will roll off.
