“We have just had a 3 night stay at the Hotel and it was lovely. When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and gave us a brief tour, when our room was ready we were again escorted there by a member of reception. The room was a great size with a small patio area overlooking the lush gardens. We had dinner in the restauarant on our first night, which was excellent, service was impeccable. We used the bar a couple of times, loving the idea that we got to choose our "Happy Hour", we also……

“The hotel was beautiful and clean. It was in the center of the old town. Restaurants on the streets on either side of the hotel. Music everywhere. One block from the water and one block from the Main Street. Everything you could imagine was in walking distance of the hotel. The best part was the rooftop infinity pool and the views from the rooftop were spectacular. Best breakfast buffet ever and it’s included in the stay. I’d recommend Barcelo Funchal Oldtime to anyone who wants to experience……

The breakfast was good, but would have been nice to switch up the food every once in a while just to have something different sometimes. Other than that we had a great stay here. It had a lot of variety.The only thing I disliked was the pool deck was under construction, and there was a sewer smell on the property other than that I enjoyed my stay.”

“The location of the Pestana Lido Vila is unique to this stretch of the coastline as the hotel is right on the waterfront. Most of the other hotels nearby are perched above the cliff with access to the water via elevators. There is a grocery store right across the street and many restaurants to choose from as well as a walkway along the waterfront that goes several miles up the coastline. We were also able to easily walk into downtown Funchal, about a 30 minute walk. The hotel is well……
