「A beautiful, well appointed spot.
However, there are some issues with the service.
The on site gentleman was wonderful.
They were in my room fixing the fireplace when I arrived, had to come fix it again, left me just with a sheet when I said I had allergies to down-requiring me to call for a blanket, and did not have the plunges or sauna operational the duration of my stay.
To their credit, they worked to get at least the sauna running.
However, they only revealed the issue AFTER I booked...

「They did a great job renovating the Tar Heel motel. Clean, comfortable rooms. Bring K-cups with you if you are a big coffee drinker and don’t pack heavy. This is the best of old school Outer Banks, reminds me of when my parents would take us to OBX in the 70’s staying at the Beacon.」

「We had an awesome stay! Wine and cheese hour; hot cookies; coffee/tea bar 24/7. They offer so many things! You even have beach chairs and towels that can be borrowed! They also recommended Miller’s restaurant and that was so Delicious!!!」

「Colonial Inn is always a launching point for our OBX trip. They are affordable and convenient for a Friday night stay on the way further south for a following week. We appreciate that they don’t require a 2 night stay and use them regularly as a result.」
