Bonner Bridge is one of North Carolina's most well known man-made structures of it's kind (The Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway is probably the most well known). This location makes for a great getaway at the Outerbanks to spend an entire day (and night). The location is popular for fishing and is ideal for landscape and astro photography. You can have lots of fun on some of the dunes, although getting the sand out afterwards is a big hassle.

This is one of my favorite images from this location. I love the warm light tones and the shadows that create a contrast in the foreground sand. It is created from a single exposure with only minor modifications made to adjust overall contrast and brightness.

If you are interested in wildlife, the Pea Island Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is a very popular location.

“We had a very nice stay...check in was easy and we were able to check in a little early to beat rainy weather. The house was a good fit for all of us--8 in total...6 adults and 9 and 11 year old girls.The kitchen was well stocked, and we made use of it for breakfasts and lunches. “Coral Sunset was amazing. The check-in process was easy. We did not have any issues so we never had to contact the property manager. The instructions sent were very detailed. The condo was very clean. It’s in a great location, with Barefoot Landing across the road & all the restaurants so close. There are so many amenities, didn’t take advantage of all of them but hopefully we’ll be back in the summer to do so. ”
