"6 minute walk from the gastown steam clock. Lots of restaurants and fast food options near by. We originally got a king room in the north tower but holee molee it was small. The view was terrible as well. We did let the front desk know and they moved us. Staff was fantastic. I was over all happy with my choice with booking. Parking is not free and the on site restaurants are moxies and shark club. Neither are open until later. So not a viable breakfast option. Super close the Roger's place."

"Older hotel that needs upgrading. Very noisy A/C, rusty patio furniture, horrible shower, limited restaurant offerings and extremely understaffed. Quay Market is undergoing renovations (again, always?) which makes for a poor experience. Very high parking prices. That said, many (not all) staff very friendly and accommodating, extremely comfortable bed and nice in-room amenities. Still, not really worth the price. Sorry."

"Me: "Where would you prefer to live? [our home city] or Vancouver?" My 4 year old: "I prefer to live in... this hotel!" We had a blast at the River Rock hotel during May long weekend. Our little one loved the swimming pool, and we had the bonus of having a room right above the SkyTrain and in the flight path of planes taking off from YVR... built-in free entertainment! Really close to places we like to visit in Richmond too... restaurants, shopping, Richmond Night Market. Plus easy access to the highway to go into the city. Our room was clean and comfortable. Check-in/out was easy too. My only criticism is the layout of the resort meant a bit of a long walk each day to get to the parking lot (across the street and then on the other side of the resort), and the swimming pool was tricky to find. Signage could be clearer. Also the elevators in the parking lot were broken, along with some of the elevators in the resort itself. "
