「We had a room at the rear of the hotel which was nice and quiet. A fan was available in the room which helped during the heatwave. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. No wardrobe but hooks on the wall and hangers for clothes which was ok as we only stayed 2 nights. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were friendly on arrival and at breakfast. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable.」

「Battle is a very small town; having the helpful hotel staff in the neighborhood is certainly a plus. This building has existed as of the 16th century, and it's been properly maintained and apparently renovated in the toilet/bathroom.」

「A lovely hotel with many original features.
The dinner and breakfast were lovely, there was a nice selection of both.
The room was great and plenty of plugs to charge devices.
I liked the lounge/bar area with a wide selection of books and games available for patrons.
It's very well located for trips to Battle itself and Hastings.
Would very happily stay here again.」

「We had a lovely stay at Amelia Cottage while visiting family in Battle. Such a nice and warm welcome from the owner. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need. The garden is lovely and well maintained with many flowers. The location is perfect, it is close to the playground and to Battle High Street. The local supermarket Jempsons is only a few minutes walk away and that was also very handy. We will definitely book again!」

「The room was nice and big. The staff were friendly. The location was great, near lots of pubs and restaurants. The pub is good too, with friendly people.
Not necessarily suited for young children on friday night as the area is loud until 0030, although it did quieten down once bars were shut. The shower water pressure in the evening seemed a lot lower than the morning.」

「We stayed in a quad room for £130 per night and were quite disappointed. The photos online made the room look modern and recently updated, but in reality it felt very dated, almost as if it hadn’t been refurbished in decades. The room was also not as clean as expected.
One of the biggest issues was the lack of ventilation. The room became very hot, but opening the window-door wasn’t really an option as it allowed insects to come into the room. The roof garden outside also looked neglected and...

「Spa facilities poorly maintained wood splitting in sauna, no steam room very small pool and small dirty changing facilities.
Inadequate gym facilities literally 1 treadmill
Old dirty carpet and room smelled old.
Tv was inadequate old 1st generation TV. Terrible WiFi signal
Reception staff friendly but catering staff not.
No food available after 9.30pm no amenities or facilities around to overcome this.
Would not recommend staying unless just going to specifically play golf」

「Our room had a very ugly view over the bins and kitchen extractor fans. This created a loud hum until around 10pm and also brought some cooking smells into the room. The walls are also very thin and we could hear the room next door very clearly.
However, after midnight the noise died down and it was quiet.
The hotel is in a nice, very rural location.」
