“The hotel was good, however, when we arrived the hotel desk clerk was not friendly had asked for adjoining rooms which we did not get, he never explained why could not hardly hear him speak, just rude and had asked for a wake-up call, never got when we checked out desk clerk said he was new, really all staff should be trained on all, she never apologized, and the breakfast is a joke, hardly nothing there when we walked in at 8:55 which it ends at 9, she was fuzzing because people were coming in……

Here we ran into one problem where the toilet in our room some kind of way went out, and they immediately fixed it and put us in a different room no hassle whatsoever very friendly staff in the property was well kept we enjoyed all of the amenities the pool, & breakfast.”

“Arrived and checked in. Was given a room that hadn't been cleaned at all. Trash everywhere, beds pulled apart, dirty towels on the floor. Went back to the front desk and was given a new room. After a few hours I was in bed and my room door was opened and the employee came in my room. Did not knock just enter my room. I had to go to the front desk and ask why that happened. He said that I wasnt suppose to be in that room and I should have already checked out!! Then he proceeded to let me leave……

“I had an amazing stay at the Homewood Suites in Yorktown. The check‑in was smooth, and the staff treated me with genuine kindness from start to finish. My suite was spotless, quiet, and surprisingly spacious, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. The kitchen area was a huge plus, and the complimentary breakfast in the morning was delicious good. I also appreciated how peaceful the hotel felt, even when it was busy. It’s clear the team takes pride in keeping everything clean and running……

“Recommend avoiding this place if possible. I was looking for a cheap place to stay in Newport News, not overly concerned with quality because I expected to be away from the room most of the time - it was a poor decision. Summary of lowlights: Keycards refused to stay magnetized (have never had this issue anywhere else ever, and here I literally had to go to the front desk each time I had to return to the room. Smoke detector has a bright green blinking light right above the bed. Side exit……

“Please avoid this property at all costs. There were mouse droppings in the room. The cleaning staff did not clean the room when requested. The hotel does not ahve enough linen for all the rooms. Also the hotel does not have enough Towels as well. I came back to my room one afternoon and found that the hand towels were missing. The cleaning staff had come in and taken away all the hand towels, probably they were needed in another room. The Reception staff was very nice and polite, the breakfast……
