"We had a pleasant stay. Liked that there is easy parking and a bus outside into Edinburgh. Breakfast was good, but sometimes the plates are cold. I am not keen on the dark decor - that is a personal feeling, but it must be difficult for those with sight problems, and not good for the environment as lights need to be o"

"The restaurant is very good. The quality and taste is outstanding. Reserve the room with breakfast and it will be worth it. As for my room, the bathroom could use some remodeling because some of the grout has come off or has black mold. The closet doors also do not close properly. Staff were hospitable and very kind. "

"Hotel was very poor. Bed was broken and curtains falling off rail so light poored in. Would not stay again. Thought martiot was better. Breakfast poor. "

"Great location, restaurants nearby are pretty good, close enough to the touristy spots a nice walk can get you there but removed enough to not be in the middle of it all. The rooms are updated, bathrooms might need an update but i was surprised with the hotel overall. "

"I stayed in the village hotel for 1 night while in Edinburgh visiting friends, the location was excellent for getting into the city centre. The room was comfortable and clean, the shower gad good pressure, but the height was too low, im 186cm tall and had to duck to get my head under the shower head. The other negative was the breakfast was very underwhelming, while there was plenty of it everything was just ok. Overall i would stay again but wouldnt have breakfast."
