Private lakefront home w/porch & dock--fish, relax; quiet & shady

A home with plenty of shade and outdoor area to enjoy. Fish from the dock, play games on the screen porch, or BBQ at the picnic area. Plus there is a boat launch nearby. Plenty of room to eat or chat around the table. Three beds (king, 2 queen) to make very comfortable sleeping arrangements for six people. You can request fish food -- fun for kids to take to the dock and watch the fish come over for a meal.

Very private, yet still close to the lovely sandy white beaches of South Walton County (approximately 20 minute drive). Or take a drive to visit the E.O.Wilson Biophilia Center, historic Eden Gardens State Park, or Alaqua Animal Refuge. There are several golf courses, scuba diving, horseback riding, and fishing charter opportunities -- all of which can be done as a day trip.

Other recommendations and entertainment ideas can be provided upon request. Please review house rules regarding pets. There is a $50 fee for animals brought on the property.

Great for a relaxing stay

We had a wonderful and relaxing experience. Property grounds are like a camping retreat, with a wonderful fire pit and picknick gazebo. The fishing dock was great. Very comfortable accommodations

Serenity? Definitely!

We really enjoyed our time at this location. We did some fishing and also enjoyed going to the beach. Plenty of restaurants and shopping close by. Enclosed patio was nice even though we only had 15 minutes of rain during our stay.

We loved our stay. House was perfect size for the 5 of us. We had a few visitors (none overnight) since we were there for a funeral. The living/dining area was a perfect size and all our guests were well pleased with the amenities. We will definitely keep this place in mind when we need to return to the area.

We really enjoyed the private setting amongst the live oaks and Spanish moss and on the water! I caught a nice largemouth bass while wading around the dock. We would definitely stay again!

Fall get away

The property was beautiful, very relaxing, I brought my 90-year-old mother down to visit her family. And I could not have asked for a better place. She was able to enjoy her visit with them. Would definitely. Would definitely come back.

Quick trip

Our short visit to the lake house was nice and relaxing. The home was comfortable although the mattresses were all harder than we are used to. The house was clean and the large backyard and views are wonderful.

Lovely peaceful place

Very comfortable, well maintained home in a quiet neighborhood on a beautiful lake. It's close to a few restaurants and a Dollar store. Host sent me codes, wifi information, directions and had no trouble finding it or getting in. I will definitely book it again. My first time with VRBO. I was very happy.

“Borderline 11”

I have to say this was one of the best VRBO experiences I have ever had.Jonas and Teresa are the epitome the excellent host. I needed a couple of old bars in the shower, and immediately after we arrived they were on the spot, put them up, and I was safe during the duration of my visit.If you from behind the house was impeccable. It was quiet and peaceful, and we had all the privacy that we could possibly want.Inside of the house was both comfortable and well kept. The kitchen was well-stocked as well as cleaner than my own home.I cannot wait to find an excuse to come back and spend more time here.

Lake retreat

This property offers serenity at its beat. We needed a breath. We are dealing with our flooded house feom Hurricane Milton. We have been working around the clock to do the restoration of the water that ran thru our home. This home on the water provided us the beautiful lake and dock to just sit on, dropnour toes in the water and decompress. Having been a professional cleaner for over 40 years I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the home. The host as well as their cleaning staff were beyond friendly and accommodating.

Pleasant place to watch the birds and clouds go by. Hurricane Debby brushed by just to the east and gave quite a show. I caught the biggest bass of my life off the dock (6 lbs.)!

Very comfortable stay

Close enough to town. Plenty of room to relax and enjoy the quiet calmness of the deck, screened in porch and walk to the water. Walmart delivery for forgotten items was spot on. Tannin’s restaurant easily accompanied 20 for dinner after my brother's memorial service. Service and food were wonderful. We would definitely stay again, if in the area.

We stayed for 3 days with the goal to fish, have fun, and make memories before school started back. We caught and ate a mess of fish but they are definitely tricky bait ninjas. The boys swam in the lake daily also when they got hot from fishing.

We loved this stay.Everything was great. The lake out back was nice to fish in. Winter retreat

My 3 teens and I were 1 month snow birds in this lovely home. The internet was great for school. The host was quick to respond and let us borrow additional kitchen gadgets we needed for a longer stay. We enjoyed lounging on the dock and walking the neighborhood. We were close enough to explore the beaches and amazing hiking trails. We would choose to stay here again.

Our Home Away From Home

We've stayed here on multiple occasions. This place is so quite and calm. You are located near a local cafe and a Dollar General Market. The beach is literally 30 minutes away and Morrison Springs is a 20 minute drive. Bring your fishing pole as Juniper Lake has Bass, Crappie, Catfish, and gar. The boys are kept occupied down at the dock. The hosts are top notch people that will keep you took care of.

Blessed to be back

This place is our haven. We have been here four, maybe five times? This is where my kids reset after a long school year, where we make memories and just enjoy quiet, solitude and family. It’s always just perfect. Beds are comfortable, my kids sleep amazing and mom and dad have quiet moments. The views are beautiful and the location on the lake is one of a kind. Everything you could need is here, and the owners have hearts of gold. We love this home and we’ll of course be back.

Perfect quiet getaway

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this lakeside cozy cabin with my family while we were in town visiting the in laws, and I must say it was an absolute delight! The cabin itself was charming and had all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The lakeside location provided a serene atmosphere that allowed me to truly unwind and relax. The fishing dock was a wonderful addition, as it allowed my husband and kids to spend days enjoying the outdoors and trying their luck at catching some fish. The owners were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure that my stay was nothing short of perfect. I highly recommend this cozy cabin vacation rental to anyone looking for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway. Can't wait to go back next time we are in town!

Meeting great grandson

The cabin was wonderful. I had my grandson, his wife and baby over for breakfast on Saturday morning. Then we sat in the screened porch for a while. Very peaceful. The property is beautiful. I dropped water on the floor in the kitchen, i wiped it up with a paper towel and the paper towel was clean when i looked at it. Very clean through out the cabin. We will definitely rent this cabin next time we are in Defuniak Springs.

Our stay at the cabin on Lake Juniper was nothing short of magical. It was the most peaceful retreat we’ve ever taken—so serene that for days, we wouldn’t hear another human voice as we sat by the lake, completely immersed in nature. Watching the sunrise and sunset over the water was an unforgettable experience, and we have the most beautiful photos to take home, especially of the azaleas in full bloom.Springtime here was a gift, and from this perfect home base, we were able to explore so much of the surrounding area. We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at McGuires —both in Panama City Beach and Destin—each offering its own lively charm. We walked the stunning two-mile boardwalk at Turkey Creek, taking in the natural beauty, and found ourselves returning to Eden Gardens more than once, captivated by the magnificent trees that have stood for centuries.Through it all, our hosts ensured that our stay was seamless, addressing any small needs we had with kindness and care. Their hospitality made an already perfect getaway even more special. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and look forward to returning to this slice of paradise.

Peaceful, quite area, fenced yard, circle drive. hanging moss swaying in the trees. Boardwalk takes you right off the back deck to the lake behind. Sunrise -be sure and take your morning coffee down to the little boat dock, and come back again in the evening for spectacular sun set. Large screened area on the back deck right out from the kitchen. Wash dishes looking out with view of the lake. Bed is firm and slept very well. Showers are great. owners are quick to respond to inquiries. Decor and furniture updates make the space more cozy and welcoming than when we booked online. Cat Island is 4 minutes around the corner :)
