Perfect Beach Getaway in San Diego

We recently stayed here for a quick getaway with friends and family and we couldn't be happier with our experience. The location of the home was absolutely fantastic, just a short 2-block walk to the beach, making it incredibly convenient for our beach-loving family. There's also a full playground at the beach, which is a major plus for kids. Upon arrival, we were pleased to find the home clean and well-maintained. It was easy to settle in and make ourselves at home. The layout and amenities of the house were user-friendly, making our stay comfortable and hassle-free. The kitchen appliances are top of the line and we were able to get groceries and cook throughout our stay which was awesome. The kids were thrilled with the giant spa (basically a pool as far as they're concerned) and the back doors are completely glass and open up so we were able to be near them the whole time. The stay was everything we could have hoped for and more. We highly recommend this property. Thank you for providing us with such a wonderful experience! We hope to return in the future!

Great location. Wish the house wasn’t “smart”

The house is beautiful, the view of the beach is wonderful. Restaurants are great and walkable. But. Little things. One of the lounging chairs on the upper deck (hydraulic controlled) was broken. The remote that closed the shades in the primary bedroom also closed the ones downstairs, at the same time. The primary bath had a light, bright light! that came on when anyone went in there in the night. The pool leaked water. There is a land line somewhere behind a locked door, that rang often. Too many things required an app on my phone. I like manual switches. Not searching through an app. Although we enjoyed our stay, it wasn’t because of the house, itself.

Location!!!!

The setting, location and view is perfect! A couple of houses away and you're at the beach. There are restaurants, tourist type stores and ice cream a few blocks away. We rented a golf cart and since the streets are really small and it's hard to find parking it worked out great. Parking on the street is nearly impossible, so don't count on that right in front of the house. The entire surrounding area is filled with beach parking. The driveway fit a smaller SUV and the golf cart, but it would not work for an extended SUV. The beds were comfortable. Some of the light switches were a little confusing. We figured out the auto shades and they work great for both nighttime or the sun blocker shade only. Overall this was a great house, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again for the proximity to the beach. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The only part that I was not satisfied with is the hot tub. I'm a pool person and everyone else likes the beach. From the reviews some described it as an extra-large hot tub that when not heated can act as a small pool to cool off in. It was only half full and the garden hose was dripping to fill it back up. The stairs and vents were not even covered in water & the bottom was full of leaves. I couldn’t tell if it was dirty or the color of the tiles, but it was not inviting, and doesn't look like the nice jetted blue hot tub that is in the photos, but that would not deter me from renting the home again.

Great house and a great location

House in immaculate condition, maintained exceptionally well one block from the ocean a couple of blocks from the village of La Jolla Shores short drive to downtown La Jolla- everyone hated to leave !

Best possible location!

Three generations of family stayed together at this home, and we were blown away by the wonderful experience! We were literally steps to the beach, and also walked to restaurants and stores daily. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit also. The beds were very comfortable. Definitely a 5-star experience!

Great Location/Mostly Clean/Semi-Responsive Staff

Of course, the house is in a phenomenal location. The way I give stars is 5 = Worth 100% of the price; 4 = worth 80% of the price etc., etc. In this case, it gets 4 stars from me because (1) the house was not as clean as it should be. It looked like there were blood stains on all of the kitchen chairs; (2) the property managers were too slow to respond given the price point. The house includes loads of built-in gadgets but they are not intuitive at all (even for a millennial!), so we we weren't able to maximize our enjoyment from them. The provided instructions were far from complete and the staff did not provide timely or fulsome answers to questions; and (3) even though the house was listed as dog-friendly on VRBO, we discovered upon arrival that it was *not*, so we had to pay an additional pet fee. Of course, the natural beauty of La Jolla and the unbeatable proximity to all of its dining, art, and activities made the trip outstanding. But at this creme de la creme price point, we were looking for a creme de la creme experience all the way through.

A beauty with a view

We rented this house for my birthday and had our family joining us. This house was spacious and clean. We loved the heated pool, huge kitchen and luxury bathrooms. Check in and check out was extremely easy. Malls and grocery stores all in very close range. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Property!

This place made our vacation! It's literally a few houses from the public beach and park, so it looks into the park toward the open beach. It's brand new and whoever built it spared no expense. They have obviously moved in rental type furniture and art, which makes sense. Walking distance to downtown La Jolla shores, which is a cute little village with shops and restaurants. A quick drive to downtown La Jolla. The local vibe is this area is very laid back and becachy. Highly reccomend!

Family Weekend (Family of 6 including parents; 12 year old twins & one adult daughter & her friiend

We were pleased with both the professionalism and responsiveness of the management company and maintenance /tech support staff. The location is outstanding ...walking distance to the village and the beach. Quiet residential neighborhood but not isolated as lots of people walking or running by. There is a great front deck to sit outside in the morning an enjoy a coffee after a run. The house was well appointed and beautiful inside and out. We loved our stay. Perfect spot if you want to enjoy the beach by day ; dinner in the village by night and then a movie in the evening before you go to bed and listen to the waves. Awesome home.

This is a beautiful home in a fantastic location. It is a "smart home," loaded with automatic black-out shades, surround sound, fireplaces, and even warming commodes. The bedding was very comfortable, as well as the rest of the house. It is perfect for couples traveling together - they actually have 2 king beds (hard to find). We hope to come back soon - hard to leave.
