Sheraton Fallsview Hotel

"Sheraton hotel was very comfortable and clean with amazing views of the Niagara Falls. Food at the buffet and restaurant was outstanding. Service was not the best. We had to wait for valet and bus service for so long. Even though they claim its valet we were still parking at the ground floor ourself unless you have 1 hour prior to going in and out. Same with luggage. Front desk not super helpful with assisting with anything really. Overall was okay"

"Hotel is very well located, that's about it. Rooms are old and dirty. The carpets had a smell, as well. There were stains in the bathroom ceiling and small holes in the wall from the door. There is not hair dryer in the room. The bathtub was shower curtain was dirty and smelly! I would give the staff 0 stars. Being in hospitality and owning a business, I would love to be aware that my receptionist (the asian girl who worked on Saturday May 23rd at 3:15pm) is rude and condescending. I previously called at 2pm to see if the room was ready (she answered "no room is ready right now, bye) because when we arrived at 10:30am to the hotel, the gentleman who received us was kind and told us they would us when the room would be ready. Arriving at 3:15, the room was ready. She was not friendly and unpleasant. Will definitely avoid for $550 a night!! We have stayed at the Fairmount and Chelsea inn before, and we definitely recommend!"

Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls

"Overall, our stay was okay, but there were several cleanliness and maintenance issues that kept it from being a great experience. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and pleasant to deal with, which we appreciated. The room itself was decent, although the bed was much too soft for our liking. One of the beds also appeared unmade underneath the covers, which was disappointing and made us question how thoroughly the room had been prepared before our arrival. We were informed that rooms are only cleaned every three days, which is understandable to a point, and we did regularly see housekeeping staff working in guest rooms. However, it was very noticeable that the hallways were not being cleaned or vacuumed at all during our stay. Trash cans in the hallways were overflowing, and there was a piece of candy on the floor — at first glance it honestly looked like something much worse — that remained in the exact same spot the entire time we were there. That made it pretty clear the hallways were being neglected. The hotel has potential, and with better attention to cleanliness in the common areas and more consistent housekeeping standards, the experience could have been much better. The friendly staff helped leave a positive impression, but overall there is definitely room for improvement."
