The hotel is wonderful. The front desk personnel are fabulous. Centrally located. With in walking distance of everything. My room on the other hand was a different story. The people on the reception were very friendly and competent. Prices at the bar were totaly ok. Our apartment in the castle was big and comfortable. Everything was excellent. I would add perfect. The surrounding were great; marina, beach, bike paths, easy to walk to the old town. The pool is magnificient with great view on the marina. The cuisine is excellent.

People are friendly but snobbish. We tried getting some charcuterie from a local butcher & instead got a history lesson. The main land strip is nice but the rest is very dirty with lots of broken & run down properties. Shame tourism isn't supported.
I had a day out to Bologna to see friends. Bit of a trek with 2 trains. Day ticket to Venice by boat/bus/boat is quite an experience and runs all night too
