“Nice room”

“Management excellent - as were all the staff. Listed building and would benefit from some TLC as we had expected, but we were allocated a lovely room and had a great stay. Housekeeping standards not amazing - but bins emptied and water replaced. The bar area and lounge/restaurant lovely but the standards dip a little as you head upstairs to the room - just small things like the hand rails grubby. Food wise, we only ordered a pizza (which was clearly a frozen Iceland style pizza) so not the best……

“We only stayed for one night however were amazed at how low the price of £131.41 was for the service and facilities. Good size room, nice shower, complimentary drinks in fridge, complimentary packed lunch for the following day and a good breakfast choice. When you consider that this is also peak holiday season it is exceptional value for money for the room we stayed in.”

“A little gem that we will definitely return to. Rooms were finished to a high quality - not just style over substance. Beds comfy, shower amazing, hot tub fab and one of the best nights sleep for a while. Paired with excellent food and service at Bowling Green Inn, would highly recommend 👍”

“Lovely building with stunning gardens. I definitely recommend their on site restaurant too. Great food at really reasonable prices.”

“No staff there to check us in - had to go find someone but to be fair they were doing double duty in bar and hotel. Room itself was clean and tidy but hallway carpets weren’t great. Breakfast was delicious. Could use a mini fridge in the room. Parking was ample.”

“Location is great for us. We stayed in Room 3 in the courtyard as we had a small dog with us and they are not allowed in the Main Hotel rooms. We have stayed in this room before - its an excellent size but on the first floor. It seems to have been modernised from when we were last there which was nice. We didn't have breakfast or evening meal there as it is "hotel prices". Within walking distance of the hotel is one of the best pubs in Derbyshire - The Hollybush Inn - great beer and grub.”
