“Very cool place to stay. Near waterfront and market. Friendly, helpful staff. As we were leaving, we mentioned that we were going to Folly Beach. We were told that they have a sister property in Folly Beach and that we could use their pool, beach, parking. We did that and they were so friendly and helpful at Tides too.”

“Not what I was expecting for downtown Charleston, but it didn't have a great rating to begin with so I shouldn't have been surprised. The furniture was worn and stained. The coffee area could only serve one person at a time, comfortably. The Staff was very nice but not very well schooled on customer service. “The TV in our room never worked properly. I told the front desk the first day and asked again. No one ever came to check the TV. It was out of focus. Also, the site advertised free breakfast and a pool; there was no breakfast at all… not even coffee in lobby and the pool was drained. The staff did not offer alternatives to breakfast even though there was a place attached to one part of the hotel. I thought it was closed. My room was clean but the stairs and outside was not swept and sloppy.……
