“The hotel is well situated in the centre of Bakewell, only stayed for one night in a classic room (the basic) which was large, clean and comfortable. We had dinner in hotel restaurant the evening menu was a bit limited for me (I’m a fussy eater) but the food was good, breakfast was excellent good variety on continental and freshly cooked hot breakfast and the dining room staff were friendly and helpful. All together I have no complaints ”

“Take yourself back in time to an era we all want to recreate away from this troubling world. I was hoping for a spitfire to zoom overhead at anytime. A beautiful location within the Chatsworth estate in old style properties with plenty of character. Just a few steps away is a lovely local pub The Beeley Inn serving delicious food (the ox cheek is to die for,) agreeably it’s not cheap but you get what you pay for. Ideal for a special treat.”

“There was little or no noise from the pub. The only noise near my room was other guests arriving and departing. Parking was no problem. Staff were very pleasant and, due to them, I was able to get my head down in good time as I had been up all the previous night. This was followed by a very sound night's sleep. Breakfast was perfectly adequate for me (cereal and toast). The evening meal I had booked was again perfectly satisfactory. For my one night's stay, the experience was fine. ”

“I know Matlock Bath well and have stayed locally a couple of times. I’d seen High Tor but never considered it. I know regret this as it was really rather good. The room was well-appointed with all mod cons including a fab shower in the en-suite. We dined out but probably should have eaten in as the breakfast was absolutely delicious. Access was easy and the parking more than adequate. ”
