“This was an absolutely awesome place to call home for a week! We only wish it could have been longer! We loved the open air quality of the space, and our daily visits from Paele the cat, the wild pig, wild turkey, and many geckos! The temperature was perfect with the cool breeze coming into the room, and we were so happy for the chance to meet Johnny and tour the properties. “The property is beautiful and fully stocked. The place is even cleaner and nicer in person than we expected from the posting. The AC is solid, which is nice considering how humid HI can be.Dave was also great, he gave us a tour on check in. He pointed out the lovely fruit-bearing and flowering plants in the yard.We were also close to a public beach access where we could watch the sunset and see fish, crabs, and honu (sea turtles) (see beach photos).Would absolutely come back!”

“The cottage was fantastic. Had all the amenities. It was in a quiet neighborhood, with a view of a golf course, but easy driving distance to the Volcanoes National Park and the town of Volcano. We were very busy seeing the various attractions of the island, such as waterfalls, the black sand beach and South Point, and hiking in the National Park. We wished we could have spent more time at the cottage. Highly recommend this property and would definitely stay here again. ”

“Great stay with only very minor negative points. The Pots in the kitchen could be better.Therefore the yard is awesome. Propably the nicest i have seen so far. The house is gorgeous too, but don't expect to much privacy between your party members.The Guest room gets quite warm without A/C but it's ok. Overall a fantastic stay and i will come back as soon as i can afford Hawaii again.”

“Perfect beach cottage steps from a really cool public access park. You will absolutely love the Puako neighborhood. There are around 10 beach access points to explore nearby. The Mango cottage sits near the end of a dead end road (from a map it might look like the road keeps going but a few hundred yards past the house it’s closed to vehicles, you can bike/walk it). It’s only a short walk to a super cool petroglyph trail. Do it early or late for the best lighting. We would also see multiple……

“We enjoyed the beautiful ocean sunrise sitting on the lanai while watching the birds fly from tree to tree. The sounds of frogs and birds abound in this lush environment. The cottage is well appointed and meets all your needs. ”

“Hard to visualize it with the pictures. The layout is perfect for where it is. We saw a family wild pigs on the property. Love the town it’s in too. Definitely expect some bugs and geckos in the cabin (but very few in the bedroom itself). Dryer was out of gas but Marc was very responsive and found us a solution. ”

“This is a beautiful property and very peaceful and calming. We had excellent communication with the manager who really helped us by arranging a washing machine when a prior renter had broken the machine at this cottage. Also, we forgot a ring that has much sentimental value (it got mixed up in the bedding while we were packing to leave). The housekeeper turned it in and the manager contacted us immediately to coordinate it's return. We were already on our way to another part of the island but……

“We just got home from a week long stay at the Foster Ohia Rental Home. This was our first trip not staying with family locally, so finding this home nearby was perfect. The home was so comfy and included everything you’d need to make your stay enjoyable. It was private and excluded and we already miss going to sleep to the sound of the coquis and waking up to the chirping birds of the forest. Staying up on the hill was much more enjoyable and offered a nice reprieve from the Kona heat. Also……
